Q & A's
There have been some collectors that have put their own lists together but over time it has been discovered that these are out of date or incomplete. This situation is not helped when companies like Winning Moves do not keep a record of packs released and I guess it is impossible to know what companies are releaseing after buying a license to use the Top Trumps logo.
Older brands like Ace, Dubreq and Waddingtons were also unhelpful. The Ace brand listed packs from the same series but for the German market. Dubreq listed some packs that were never released and when Waddingtons brought out Dubreq they just copied their list.
So, in short, no, there is not a complete, official list.
STT stands for Super Top Trump. They are also called Exclusive cards. In the USA they are know as Super cards but they all have the same function. You add each card to the pack shown on the rear. Sometimes these cards are just advert cards when found inside games such as Monopoly, Match! as well as some Puzzles. Not every pack has an STT.
When I have been faced with this situation I tend to buy some new cassette cases. The winning Moves packs that are larger fit nicely inside. Obviously if you have a large size pack of it has a lot of cards then that is an issue. For this type of pack, I have no idea except to find a large plastic bag or if you are a crafter then you could always make your own.
If you want the same case that was broken then you could always contact companies like Winnning Moves in the UK, Carta Mundi in Belgium/Netherlands or FX Schmid and ASS both in Germany.
This is an excellent way to showcase your collection but would take up much more room that the cases plus as well you are keeping he cases safe. So unless you have lots of room then I would recommend keeping them in their cases. For many collectors these binders are used for the STT's that were given away as competition prizes or for attending events and even in some cases cutting out a newspaper advert and sending away for the card.
Well the simplest method is to join or form some kind of collective, a group of like minded collectors who all look out new packs. eBay is a good place to start your searches. If you can find out the company name that produced the pack then contact them directly via their website. So for example if you see a Zoo pack, then contact them directly. It is generally cheaper to buy 3 or 4 packs to keep the postage costs down, so the larger your group the cheaper the overall costs will be. Don't forget if your the one buying you will need to post out to each other member.
We am asked this quite a lot. If you are good at designing a simple card layout then thats the easy bit. Next you will need to do some research for the statistics. Anything can be made into a pack just look at our Miscellaneous pages!
If you want to sell them then the costs start to spiral but the quality will be much better. Making your own packs is an excellent way to increase your knowledge of a topic and can be fun to play with your friends and family.
